OUR PHILOSOPHY
Non-Profit Organization MPKEN was founded by Takaaki Miyamoto, the founder and owner of "MIK Planning Co., Ltd.", after he learned about philanthropy during a company trip to New York in 1988. Initially, donations from employees were used as financial support for the voluntary activities of MPKEN. In 1996, Non-profit Organization MPKEN was officially established.
We started our activity with these keywords and philosophy:
地球で活動する(地球は丸い)- The Earth is round
未来を見つめる若者を支援する - Support young people to realize their dreams
自らの意志で活動する - Act on one's own will
Under this philosophy, since 2006 we have continued our activities in ASEAN countries with the main themes of education, exchange and self-reliance.
※ "MP" of MP-Kenkyukai (as in Japanese) combines the "M" of Mik Planning Co., Ltd. and "P" from Philanthropy.
WHY ASEAN?
What we learned from non-profit activities in ASEAN
Since 1997, MPKEN has conducted non-profit activities in ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Over 20 years of local activities have taught us a lot.
Having worked in countries with completely different cultures, histories, languages and social structures, MPKEN has strengths in carrying out activities that are rooted in local needs, even in diverse environments.
What support is needed in ASEAN now?
ASEAN countries have miraculously weathered various global economic recessions and are now in the midst of economic development.
However, in many ASEAN countries, development is limited to urban areas, and we have seen that in rural areas there are still people left behind.
Support the ASEAN students in Japan
Along with the development of the ASEAN region, the number of international students visiting Japan from ASEAN has increased rapidly.
Considering Japan's future, cooperation with the ASEAN countries is necessary.
MPKEN works to foster outstanding ASEAN students living in Japan and strengthen ties between Japan and ASEAN countries.
